Sean Patrick Taylor

Sean Patrick Taylor is an associate in our Birmingham office. Clients working with Sean can expect a lawyer who will be attentive and sensitive to their needs while offering the knowledge and skill to secure their best possible future.

Family law was what inspired him to pursue a legal career, hoping to do work of consequence for individuals struggling to build a better future for themselves and their children. Following this path, he spent a year working in the Child Advocacy Clinic at the University of Mississippi, providing legal aid to financially challenged families.

Prior to his career in family law, he was a summer associate at Saab Defense & Security, a national defense contractor. During that time, he managed a conference in Monterey, CA with the Naval Postgraduate School and also took part in negotiations with the Port of Seattle.

Sean had the honor of working as a researcher for Ron Rychlak, advisor to the Vatican’s Mission to the United Nations and Distinguished Professor at the University of Mississippi. From that assignment, Sean co-authored “Satellite Data as Evidence” with Prof. Rychlak, which is set for publication in 2023.

Sean also spent two years as the senior, then managing editor of the Journal of Space Law, an international academic publication. During that time, he published a piece examining Stanly Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” in the context of the 1960s space race.

Prior to his career in law, Sean managed a range of businesses in real estate, media and hospitality in New York and Memphis, TN. He also worked for such media outlets as the British Broadcasting Company and ESPN.

Most recently, Sean was an investigative journalist focusing on issues such as education, public health, cybersecurity and politics.

When he’s not working joyously to improve the lives his clients, Sean enjoys spending time playing music, studying history and exploring Alabama with his girlfriend and their dog, Basil.
