Abigail Simmons

Abigail was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Illinois in 2021 and in the same year joined the firm. She received her bachelor’s degree in History from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2017 and then went on to receive her Juris Doctor in 2021 from UIC Law School (formerly John Marshal Law School) in Chicago. Abigail graduated with a concentration in International Human Rights Law and spent three years working as a student clinician in the school’s International Human Rights Clinic. Abigail’s work with the clinic contributed to a published White Paper examining human rights violations committed through mass digital surveillance perpetrated by the Syrian regime.
Abigail began her journey in family law as a clerk for various firms throughout law school. Her experience in Human Rights Law has shaped her as an empathetic and determined advocate for her clients. She has assisted clients in various domestic matters including divorce, custody, child support, guardianship, civil domestic violence issues, and multi-jurisdictional cases involving the Uniform Child-Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.
In her free time Abigail is an active member of the Junior League of Chicago and enjoys playing recreational volleyball.
